BC: Hello there, so who are you?
Luisa: Luisa – professional caricaturist extraordinaire!

BC: Describe what you do in one sentence.
Luisa: Capture humorous likenesses of the guests at events either in traditional black & white pen & ink or colour digital (either walkabout or seated), whilst also engaging in some witty banter!

BC: What makes you different from other Caricaturists?
Luisa: I am the ONLY female digital caricaturist in the UK!

BC: How did you become a Caricaturist?
Luisa: After art school I ran off to St.Tropez and became a portrait artist. I travelled Europe working as a portrait artist for 3 years and whilst in the Canary Islands discovered that caricatures were far more entertaining! I lived abroad for another 11 years working as a caricaturist (mostly in Spain) before returning to good old England and discovering the joys of working at fabulous events in London! I go to so many amazing venues around the UK I have really come to appreciate how beautiful Great Britain is. Wouldn’t want to live anywhere else now.

BC: Who is your favourite Caricaturist/artist?
Luisa: Tom Richmond.

BC: What has been your favourite ever event and why?
Luisa: I’ve been to many prestigious events in the UK and abroad (Dubai etc) but the one that made my soul sing was a walkabout digital gig on the sumptuous Samsung stand right next to the stage at the fabulous Soho House Festival 2013. Great band line up (including London Grammar, Kaiser Chiefs, Tom O’Dell, The 1975, Bastille and Primal Scream!) I love working to music and as my set finished at 8pm I was then just in time go and watch Tom O’Dell, who was brilliant, such a lively performance, and all the rest of the bands until midnight with a nice chilled glass of bubbly! (or three!)

BC: What would be your ideal event?
Luisa: Being a music lover – I’d have to say a music festival!

BC: Who have you most enjoyed drawing or meeting on an event?
Luisa: I’ve met many celebrities and worked at Des O’Connor’s wedding at Highclere Castle (most of the guests were celebs) which was quite an experience but my all time favourite was meeting Roger Daltrey from the Who. (Music again!)

BC: What do you do the rest of the time when you’re not drawing caricatures?
Luisa: I’m always drawing caricatures! (Either travelling to events or drawing from photos in the studio, listening to music of course). Very, very busy so no time for anything else!
