BC: Hello there, so who are you?
Sorcha: Hi, I’m Sorcha and I’m known as the Crystal Magician.

BC: Describe what you do in one sentence.
Sorcha: I’m an entertainer that produces shared, remarkable, experiences that breaks down barriers, fills the room with energy, and helps guests connect with each other.

BC: What makes you different from other performers?
Sorcha: I’ve performed at over 2000 events in the last 15 years, so I have the experience to know how to engage and entertain all types of people and make sure the guests have a great time.

BC: How did you become a performer?
Sorcha: I’ve always loved the arts, especially circus and magic. I originally trained in finance, but always performed whenever I could. At a certain stage I was able to turn it into a full time career.

BC: Who is your favourite performer?
Sorcha: Gosh, there’s many. One of my favourites is Kylie as she’s had such a long and varied career, going from acting to singing. As a performer I think you have to reinvent yourself every few years and she has always done this with such style and success.

BC: What has been your favourite ever event (and why)?
Sorcha: Again, wow, there’s been so many it’s hard to choose just one. My favourite recent one was working at a company party at The Serpentine Gallery. The client wanted the styling of the event to reflect the current exhibition, so they created bespoke costuming for all the performers. The finished look was amazing and created a great atmosphere for all. I love to work with other creatives to fulfil a client’s vision.

BC: What would be your ideal event?
Sorcha: My strolling crystal magic act works perfectly at evening drinks receptions where the client wants powerful and attractive entertainment option that gives a personal touch with tremendous impact.

BC: Who have you most enjoyed performing for/meeting on an event?
Sorcha: Again I have to say meeting Kylie. I worked with her on one of her book signing events. She was very gracious and took the time to come and talk to everyone who was working for her. To me that’s the sign of a real star.

BC: What do you do the rest of the time (when you’re not doing your act)?
Sorcha: I love practicing yoga, it’s such a tonic to having such an exhilarating city life working in events which can sometimes be a bit exhausting. It gives me a chance to recharge, relax & keep mind and body strong.

Otherwise on my days off I love to go cycling. I live near the River Lee and it’s beautiful to see how the east of London is changing along its banks. There are lots of new places opening up with the Olympic legacy and it’s great to see all the new facilities.
